MyOhioNow.com believes that an investment of $600 million dollars (phase one) can be made directly into this project. This is comparable to the initial investment made into the Mohegan Sun complex, located in Connecticut.

Job Creation

MyOhioNow.com plans will result in the creation of up to 5000 new jobs. Currently, jobs that are directly related to a casino average pay is $34,000 plus include full benefits (based on Indiana data found later in this booklet). Jobs created in a casino are permanent, stable jobs as well. These are not jobs that are outsourced or eliminated. No casino in the Midwest has ever closed. Job creation will stimulate the regional economy, and provide further economic growth and economic revitalization.

Ohio's dollars are leaving the state at 65 mph. Our money is being spent just over our borders in locations such as Argosy casino in Lawrenburg, Indiana (just outside of Cincinnati), Mountaineer Park in West Virginia, Erie's Preque Isle Downs Casino; multiple Casinos in Detroit and throughout Michigan; the Casino in Windsor, Ontario; Senneca Casino in Buffalo and countless others that surround our state.

Our surrounding neighbors, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Indiana, Ontario, New York, Illinois- among many others- are enjoying an economic boost and job creation as a result of these venues. Our state should not always be behind the economic curve? Why should we pay highers taxes while these other states are collecting windfall taxes from these facilities.

The destination sites have created new jobs; an infusion of dollars for the local economy (much of the time from us in Ohio); tax relief; and it touches off a revitalization in the local industries. While Ohio continues to be part of the so called "rust belt," our neighbors have taken the initiative and thought creatively and "out of the box." Meanwhile our cities, like Cleveland, have been labeled America's poorest big city. This is a true disgrace to our wonderful state.

We will look at how jobs have been created in states like Indiana and the dollars are hemorrhaging from cities like Cincinnati to locations that exist only minutes from our border (such as Argosy in Lawrenceburg, Indiana- see their project on the "Destination Site" tab)

One of the basic perspectives of MyOhioNow.com is to encourage local Ohio business to interact with the entire project. For example, local restaurant operators from Wilmington , Columbus , Cincinnati , and Dayton will have the opportunity to provide food service. Local vendors will be hired, and services will be purchased inside the State of Ohio . This helps stimulate Ohio business far beyond the walls of the casino. A similar plan in Illinois in 2005 generated $133 million dollars for local venders and suppliers.

SYNERGY WITH LOCAL BUSINESS

MyOhioNow.com will seek to work with the local business community in Clinton County to form a synergistic relationship. In the MyOhioNow.com plan, the local businesses can choose to “share the wealth” from the over 100,000 plus visitors weekly to the casino/resort complex.

Impact of Three Cincinnati are-Indiana Riverboats on Ohio

The three casinos adjacent to the Cincinnati area generated over $800,000,000 in gross revenues in 2007 and paid a gaming tax to the state of Indiana of over $258,000,000. There were over 7 million visitors to these three casinos in 2006.
